Families for a Point Loma Swimming Pool has been working on this project since May 2000. In 2003, the City Council approved the NTC Park plan setting aside 3.7 acres for a public aquatic center. In addition, at the urging of community members and the Peninsula Community Planning Board, $466,726 was committed from the NTC San Diego park budget towards the initial planning and design of the aquatic center. The Hervey Family Fund is pledging a $5-$6 million towards the project.
By December 2010, a project consultant will be hired to help with the preliminary design and engineering studies. In the Spring 2011, the City will begin the community outreach process to further define the design of the aquatic and in place, further fundraising will begin. Thank you for your support to help transform our dream into a reality.
